I know the weather feels like Autumn, but the summer is not over yet and you still have time to make a booking

We have some places left on courses in September and October.

We have limited places on our very popular Members Day Sails and check out the new dates added for October which include some weekends.

It's not too late to Charter Pride or Blue Spirit, visit the website for availability.

Due to the huge support from our members we are pleased to add 7 more dates to our Members Sailing Days. The first 7 dates are all fully booked apart from 2 spaces on Monday 22nd July.

Thanks to you all for your fantastic take up which has far exceeded our expectations.

If you struggle to get a crew together, would like some more sailing experience or just fancy a day out sailing then why not come along to one of our members sailing days.

We will take some the hassle away from sailing, we supply a club skipper, waterproofs and safety equipment, we even supply light refreshments.

All you need to do is come along be part of the crew and enjoy the day.

We will meet at the Broadway Base for 08:30 get you kitted out and after a safety brief and a cuppa set off for a lovely day sail around the Solent arriving back at the base for late afternoon.

For those that may struggle to be at Hamble for 08:30 you are welcome to arrive the evening before and sleep on the boat.

All this for only Ł40 PP

More dates may be added dependant on demand or feel free to ask if you have a date that would suit you.

In February the club outlined some of its key aims and objectives for 2019/2020 season. I would like to update you on two of those key objectives:-

(1) The sale of both Spirit and Sapphire to allow the club to purchase a newer larger yacht.

Sale of Sapphire - The club is happy to report that in May the directors accepted an offer of Ł------ for Sapphire, the yacht is due to be handed over to its new owner on the 1st July.

Spirit has been temporarily removed from the market. however, will be listed for sale again later this year. The club will continue to operate with two yachts for the remainder of the season.

The club has already started the process of looking at suitable replacements, and we will update you accordingly as we continue that process of replacing Sapphire

To get the boats ready to go for this season they require some attention to get them coded, a spot of polish, some Antifouling and a bit of TLC.
Ross, Carol and Graham are working hard to get everything ship shape but many hands make light work,

So could any members who have some spare time between now and the end of March email the club with the dates you could do. Week days or Weekends we are happy to be flexible with dates.

I appreciate this is not the most exciting of requests and all I can promise in return is a steady supply of tea and biscuits, or cake, or bacon sandwiches.

As you know its been a difficult time financially for the club, but your directors and staff are all working hard to resolve this and will soon publish a financial plan for the coming year.

IF EVERY MEMBER USED THE CLUB JUST ONCE A YEAR, IT WOULD BE PLAIN SAILING FOR THE FUTURE
