An award for the Offshore winner in 2017 to represent PSUK during the 2018 season.

The PSUK Offshore championship 2018 took place as a combined event with the NCA's annual regatta. The event was run at a loss and an award will now go to the organisers to compensate for the loss.

Dinghy championship organisers 2018 (Hampshire) made no claim for financial support

The award for the winner of the Dinghy Nationals 2017 to represent PSUK during the 2018 season was not awarded this year.

The report indicated a small closing balance.

National Dinghy Championships 2018
In the absence of a report from Hampshire, the secretary described the two-day event held at Netley Sailing Club.

The courses were all triangle-sausage type courses and the racing well run by the sailing club. Turn out was low however.

The event was won by Frances Gifford.

There was an informal consultative meeting and it was tentatively agreed for Avon and Somerset to run the event next year at Chew Valley Lake.

Other Dinghy Events held in 2018
Besides the PSUK Championships, there was only one other dinghy event held – the Avon & Somerset Constabulary Open Police Regatta

Held on the 7th June 2018 with eleven competitors. The event comprised mainly of Avon and Somerset boats with only two (Hants and Met) visiting sailors. The event was won by David Thompson (Met)

National Offshore Championships 2018.
The event, considered a success with an oversubscribed fleet of boats from Fairview. Racing, took place in the Solent and managed through the Island Sailing Club. The meals and social were also based at the ISC. Competitors enjoyed the relaxed racing style. The only disappointment was the light winds. Andrew Buchanan won the PSUK shield.

Other Offshore Events held 2018
Besides the combined NCA/PSUK Offshore Championships, there were no other offshore regattas held.

The Coppers Cup will again be in Croatia around the 23rd Sept and Dick Sivers will post details on the website once he gets them from Franjo the organiser. Note this will clash with the NCA offshore event.
