7.      Treasurer's Report – Attached to agenda & taken as read with discussion around the 2022 winners' grants. The dinghy winner had claimed £75, and offshore winner reserved the right to claim £395 for winning the offshores if they enter a national regatta.

The PSUK funding meeting is due to take place in mid-February 2023. There has been a 20% reduction each year for the past four years and it is anticipated the same reduction will be made this year.

Ian Goodman informed the meeting the accounts for the 2022 Offshore Nationals had been finalised and there was £595 to be returned. There was a discussion as to whether this money could be used for 2023 offshore nationals, but PSUK rules state it must be returned. Nick Shaw will liaise with PSUK.

8.      Proposed Expenses for 2023 to be agreed – As set out in Treasurers Report – Agreed by the meeting.

9.      PSUK Dinghy Nationals 2022 Update – See Regatta report attached to agenda – Taken as read. JS explained the good work that had been carried out by Kim Huxtable and Jim Shaw at Avon & Somerset to turn the dinghy nationals round from very few entries to 19 boats in 2022. Their hard work was recognised by the Chair and the meeting.

10.   PSUK Dinghy Nationals 2023 – OS and HR provided an overview of the planning for 2023 Dinghy Nationals. Confirmed to be held at Shustoke SC, Coleshill, Birmingham, on 14th and 15th June 2023.HR stated the current costings were based on 18 boats entering which would mean a deficit of £240, he was confident there would be more entries but if not, they would be able to reduce the cost of prizes. HR anticipated the regatta would break even or make a profit.

11.   PSUK Offshore Nationals 2022 Update –The update on the addendum to the agenda was taken as read.

12.   PSUK Offshore Nationals 2023 – 9th to 13th October 2023 - Five teams have so far registered their intention to take part. IG believed five teams was the minimum number required to run the regatta. JO raised the possibility of combining the Sunsail with the Fairview fleets and combining the Offshore Nationals with the Griffin Regatta, this was discussed by the meeting but not considered practical due to the differences in the two fleets. It was agreed the 2023 Offshore nationals could proceed.

13.   PSUK Offshore Nationals 2024 – Proposed 13th to 17th May 2024 – OP outlined the PSUK Offshore Nationals were previously held in May with the Met Open held in October. There were teams who were not able to enter in October due to the Coppers Cup in Croatia. It was agreed to move the PSUK Offshore Nationals for 2024 to May.

14.   World Police Sailing Championships / International Coppers Cup Adria – See addendum attached to agenda – This was taken as read.

15.   Force Dinghy Regattas –
Avon and Somerset Constabulary Open 14th September 2023. JS confirmed this was going ahead.

16.   Force Offshore Regattas – PSNI had informed OP of Cork Regatta Week which included a race round the Fastnet. OP to circulate details.

17.   Awards of Excellence – None notified.

18.   Any Other Business – There was a discussion relating to the participation of non-police members being able to enter PSUK competitions. There was some concern this could lead a team entering where the helm was police and the rest of the crew having no connection to the police. There was also an issue with PSUK insurance which was why the current rules prevented non-police participation. There was further discussion relating to teams entering that were made up from more than one force. Currently the PSUK rules also prevent teams of mixed forces.

Action for the Chair to discuss both issues with the Chair of the PSUK.

19.   Date and Location of next AGM –10:00hrs to 11:30hrs, Tuesday, 24thOctober 2023 on MS TEAMS. Invite to be sent nearer the time.

20.   The meeting concluded at 14:45hrs
